Jiaxing Vocational & Technical College(JXVTC) is a full-time public vocational college established with the approval of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province. The college is situated in Jiaxing, which enjoys a favorable geographical location as well as a superior commercial environment. As of Jun 26th， 2016, Jiaxing Radio and TV University has been housed on the same campus as JXVTC.
JXVTC is erected on a 150 acre land with a floor area exceeding 280,000 square meters and has a collection exceeding 4.96 million books. The college has approximately 1,1000 full-time enrolled students, studying in 8 full–time branch schools, namely the School of Aviation & Rail Transportation, Intelligent Manufacturing, Internet, Modern Agriculture, Urban Construction, Culture & Tourism, Modern Business, Fashion & Art Design. 35 different specialties are located in these schools. These areas of specialties form an educational framework adapted to the regional industrial structure and meeting the commercial needs of the province.
JXVTC attaches great importance to the quality of human resources. Currently, it has 616 faculty members, among whom 179 are associate or full professors and 379 hold master’s or doctoral degrees, with the number of teaching staff qualified in more than one area accounting for more than 91% of the total. Moreover, it has 5 provincial “151 project” talents, 1 provincial top teacher, and 19 provincial leading specialist. The college has been recognized for the formation of two teams, the key provincial scientific and innovation team and the provincial teaching team. At the same time, it retains a wide numbers of experts and industry based professionals as instructors as well as a database comprising more than 400 part-time faculties.
JXVTC focuses on training students in professional practical ability and comprehensive quality. In recent years, it has won 38 national awards, including 3 first prizes, and 302 provincial and ministerial awards. It has registered 56 student scientific research projects as well as 2,311 patents and software copyright authorizations, of which 28 patents earmarked for invention. Meanwhile, it has published 389 theses. The college actively explores and practices the talent training mode of "Industry-Academy Cooperation" which combines work and study, and constantly improves the quality of talent training. The employment rate of graduates continues to remain above 97%, which means our graduates are well received by enterprises.
JXVTC actively promotes characteristic sports and public sports. It serves as the provincial training base of non-Olympic sports disciplines, such as Bocce. Between 2014-2017, JXVTC has won 89 first, 125 second and 58 third prizes in provincial and national competitions.
